Voice notes to tasks
Turn voice notes into tasks, and keep the rest of what you said
ThoughtDump turns a voice note into organized items. It transcribes your recording, pulls out each separate thing you said, and files it as a Task, Note, Idea, or Event, grouped into a Project when that fits. Anything it isn’t sure about waits for you in Needs Review.

One voice note, several kinds of item
You say: “Okay, remind me to call the dentist about moving Thursday’s cleaning, and grab dog food on the way home. For the garage project, get a quote on new shelving. Dinner with Sam and Priya is Saturday at seven. Oh, and idea: a shared grocery list for the house.”
Illustrative example. Results depend on what you say. Uncertain dates, meaning, or Project choices go to Needs Review.
Not every thought is a task
Most voice notes mix several kinds of thought. If every one became a to-do, the real tasks would be buried under things you only wanted to remember. ThoughtDump sorts each item by what it is:
- Task: something to do. A date alone doesn’t make it an Event: “call Mike by Friday” is still a Task, with a deadline.
- Note: something to remember.
- Idea: something to think about later.
- Event: something for your Calendar, with a time or just a date.
- Project: a group for related items, like a job, a trip, or a home repair. One recording can feed several Projects.
Why not just replay the voice note?
A saved voice note is one more thing to deal with: you have to find it, listen again, and copy out what matters. ThoughtDump does that sorting step for you. Every item links back to the Dump it came from, so you can check the transcript whenever you need context, or replay the original audio before it becomes eligible for cleanup, seven days after recording.
You keep the final say
AI can misunderstand. When ThoughtDump is unsure about a date, the meaning, or which Project something belongs to, it flags the item for review instead of quietly guessing. Fix anything by typing or by saying a short correction; the original recording and transcript stay unchanged.
