Privacy & Your Data

How long ThoughtDump keeps your information

Audio: your original recordings become eligible for automatic cleanup after 7 days; removal runs on a schedule. This applies whether or not you've reviewed the Dump yet, so replay important audio within that window. Retained-text review and manual editing continue afterward.

Text and organized items: your Tasks, Notes, Events, Ideas, and Projects are kept independently of the recording and remain available after the 7-day audio window — deleting your audio does not delete what ThoughtDump organized from it.

Trial ending or canceling: neither lifecycle event deletes existing organized data. Review and export access remains separate — see Canceling and When your trial ends.

Account inactivity: ThoughtDump does not currently have an automated inactivity-warning or scheduled-cleanup process for accounts that stop being used. If one is introduced later, it will be designed to warn you by email first and give you a real opportunity to log in and export your content before anything is removed — this page will be updated with the exact timing once that policy exists and is locked in. Right now, an inactive account's data simply stays as it is.

Before you leave: if you ever stop using ThoughtDump, you're not required to keep paying just to get your information out — see Exporting your data.
