Hands-Free & Voice

Voice settings

The "Spoken read-back in Hands-Free" setting in ThoughtDump's Settings lets you turn ThoughtDump's out-loud replies off if you'd rather read than listen — it's a device-local preference, on by default. Turning it off doesn't turn off Hands-Free Mode itself: ThoughtDump still shows you the result on screen, it just won't speak it. If a reply is ever generated but genuinely can't play out loud (a blocked-audio-playback case), ThoughtDump shows the text and says so rather than acting as if it spoke.

Speech and playback

The Hands-Free overlay and Settings both offer spoken-reply controls saved per device. Item Read aloud is a separate generated-speech action, with Stop, and requires access. Turning off Hands-Free replies does not change that separate control. Original-audio replay plays the recording rather than generating speech.

Themes and Settings

Preview and choose Hacker / Dark Lab, Blue Collar, Journal, or Professional. Theme selection follows your account; spoken-reply preferences are saved per device. Historical screenshots may use the shorter label “Dark.”

Settings brings together account/password, appearance, voice, notifications and Daily Brief, calendar connections, Family, and Billing controls. Your personal activity metrics cover the last seven days. Owner-only operational analytics are not a subscriber feature.
